A sleep health and performance specialist with a portfolio ranging from sleep health and performance expertise, people development and quality assurance processes. I am an experienced exercise physiologist by trade, specifically within the high-performance sport industry. That means I’m right at home when talking to athletes and coaches and spending time watching Sport - my favourite pastime!

I have a professional doctorate in recovery, specifically, sleep, downtime and athletic performance. A growing area with obvious parallels to non-sporting populations. As such, I have presented to corporate audiences on many topics relating to sleep health, for example, work productivity, energy balance, shift work and female sleep. From such experiences I have recently written a book ‘The Essential Guide to Women’s Sleep : Supporting Healthy Sleep Practices for Wellbeing and Performance’ which will be published in October 2025.

Having been at the heart of the UK high performance sport system since 1999, I delivered roles as a Technical Lead at the UK Sports Institute (formerly the English Institute of Sport) and enjoyed front line senior physiologist roles, latterly with British Rowing (2007-2016). Having worked with a variety of Sports, from team, racket and endurance, I have excellent first-hand experience of being a practitioner in high performance sport, leading and managing sports science teams, developing bespoke laboratories, project management and delivery to world class clients.

Through leading practitioners in high performance sport environments, I have extensive experience in developing frameworks for young practitioners and supervising individuals through the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) Accreditation processes.

I am a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, having been High Performance Sport Accredited since 2012. I am a member of the CASES Accreditation Committee (Chair 2018-2022), and am a Laboratory Accreditation reviewer (CASES Laboratory Accreditation). I am a member of The Sleep Charity’s Advisory Board, and have held a project support/national trainer role with UK Anti Doping (2017-2024). I am also an associate with Bourne Sports Medicine where I work with colleagues at the brilliant Active Women’s Clinic.

Outside of my work I’ve a young family and enjoy being with them on their many adventures!
